All right, so Harry Potter is finally over, and my life can finally start getting back to normal! Except for the working every day and no free time...but that should be over by the end of the summer too. I have become obsessed with the Mugglenet Interactive website, I spend a lot of time over there. If you happen to be on the site, say hi! I'm DrusillaK (and Jeff, it's so funny...over there, nobody knows where either the Drusilla or my new icon comes from! hehe. Strange how some fandoms overlap more easily than others!)

The sorting hat says that I belong in Hufflepuff!

I think we already knew this. In fact, I'm now officially a Hufflepuff Prefect...at least according to this contest we're doing at work. The staff has been split into houses and the house that wins will have the front of store decorated in their colors for the Harry Potter party.

Get ready for yellow and black streamers :)

I found out today that all that stuff I do trying to put together costumes is actually cosplay (or would be if I ever went to a Con). I thought cosplay was just anime stuff, but apparently harry potter and x-men count too! (Yay!)

Also today I did a test-run of my Moaning Myrtle costume for the Borders party. It's good, it's certainly coming along. I have the robe and shirt, and the vest is pretty damn close. I just need a good skirt and a tie and I'll be pretty much done. I took a picture, but I don't know how to upload it. Oh well. (Besides, my ears look like satellite dishes in it because I forgot to paint them white too.)

I also found a really good wig for my black canary/supergirl costumes.

:D

Thom bought a little talking, remote control Dalek the other day. It is black and about a foot tall.

Tonight the Dalek and our year-old-cat with an attitude problem, Isis, had a showdown.

The Dalek won. After a few minutes of chasing and being chased by the Dalek, she approached it and bowed down in submission.

And now she's glaring at it, because it's in her spot.

I'm proud of myself; I managed to make myself a really decent-looking crochet scabbard for my Harry Potter wand in just a few hours. Since I used silver yarn it even kinda looks chain mail-ish from a distance. I used yellow and black beads on it, to make it Hufflepuff-ly. I'll let someone else borrow it for the party, I made this one to fit my not-so-good wand. At least now I know how to make one for when I get a better wand!

I am now fully, firmly, into Harry-Potter-Obsession mode. I may not emerge from it until after the release of the new movie and book in July (although I think Thom hopes it will be sooner because I'm driving him crazy). I have found my wand, and I have put together a perfectly suitable Bellatrix Lestrange costume to use for something or other. The only reason I might not use it for the party is that it's a little revealing, and plus, I don't want to scare off the little kids--although I guess going as a whiny ghost won't help in that respect either.

Speaking of, if anyone has something that I could use to outfit the Borders employees in for the party, please let me know! Especially old graduation gowns and witch hats.

P.S. I just overheard a girl use the word "similarish". ::sigh::

What did you do to that soda bottle? Thom had to use pliers to get it open!

It was really rather funny. hehe.

We got a kitty! She's a rescued cat that Michelle gave us. Her name is Isis and she is just the sweetest thing. She's gray and white. I would post pictures but my stupid computer doesn't have a USB port so I can't hook up our new camera :( Right now she's digging her claws into the sheepskin rug. So cute!
